Photography, like almost everything else, goes away when you abandon it. And it’s not just about the pictures fading (or or discs degrading), it’s the skill that goes away. Vision is something you may be born with, but it’s also something you must practice.
I am out of practice.

I hate to say it, but I’ve been lazy the last few weeks. The school semester is winding down, there’s been a flood of students in to show me their work (and some of it is Very Good), but my creative output has sort of plummeted. I’m rethinking this blog again, trying to figure out what I need it to be for 2009.
I don’t post many links here, but Khoi Vinh has a photo on his site today that reminds me of something I miss – finding the warm light of winter.
Aside from winter, fall is my favorite season. Spring is okay, summer, too, though not here in Georgia – too damned hot. And winter only if it’s a really good one – 175 inches or more of snow, deep cold snaps that send you huddling on the couch with cocoa.
The Traveling Time is coming up again. We’re staying put for Thanksgiving as I refuse to be anywhere else on T-day – if we’re not at home, it’s not our fridge that gets stuffed with leftovers … just saying.
