Day two and the big categories come up in each of the six divisions, leading to a lot of focus on the part of the judges and committee members. Every detail is scrutinized, every moment is studied.

One of the reasons I wanted to bring the Best of Photojournalism competition here was so the students could both witness and interact with the judges. This year, at the end of most categories, the moderators turned to the students and asked if they had questions.
There was so much knowledge being transferred in those moments, makes all the effort worthwhile.

It’s back – it’s judging weekend, in person, for the Best of Photojournalism competition. We kicked off with a series of talks from the judges and committee members, then a welcome dinner (complete with bubble cameras). Tomorrow, the judging commences.
