The first CBS Rally is in the books. All 22 teams made it through the 100 mile route and all were in good spirits when they arrived at the finish.
When they saw their scores, things changed a little …
This event was a tribute of sorts to my old friend, Ted Goddard. Ted organized the Covered Bridge Rally in Vermont for 49 years, passing a few months shy of its 50th running last year. Covered Bridge was a mainstay of the rally calendar with beautiful roads, at least a couple of covered bridges to traverse and some mildly sneaky speed change locations.
For my event, we had two Monte Carlo checkpoints early on so the timing challenge was minimal, but then there were 27 questions that varied from the obvious to the arcane. They also got to traverse two covered bridges.
We had a gorgeous day and several teams ran with the tops down in their Miatas.
Now, what’s next …
