Drive-by “journalism.” I hate doing this stuff, I need to find the time to actually tell these stories.

Talking Hands
We talk about gestures in class, how they are a key tool in recording moments. Some from work, some from home today.
Above, alum David Wallens speaks to a class, his third in a row. His energy was great to see.
UGA Motorsports
We had Grady alum David Wallens from Grassroots Motorsports on campus and, this evening, took him over to meet the students in the UGA Motorsports club. It was a fascinating conversation in so many ways.
Opening
Headed down to ATHICA for the opening of the Jason Thrasher exhibit, work from his trip to India two decades ago. Very much worth it.
Race Day
Our little SCCA tent was right across from AMG’s tent … we were nver invited over, even though we were just like them.
Ahem.
It was a good day as I was able to walk the paddock after my shift with David Wallens who snuck me into the AMG parts trailer.
Even saw the first NSX again – I think this is the third time I’ve photographed it in the last two years. And saw this elegant solution to wheel nuts backing off on a Penske Acura prototype.
Road Atlanta Return
For eight years, I ran a photojournalism workshop at Road Atlanta during the Petit Le Mans sportscar race. It was a great event but, with the sale of the series, all my contacts were let go. Not able to confirm a return in 2014, we built the new workshop at the fair and I hadn’t been back to the track since then.
This year, the SCCA had a both in the vendor area and I spent a couple of shifts volunteering. I also set up a little photo booth and let kids wear my old helmet, because every racer’s dream starts somewhere.
Reflective
Glanced out the window, westward, into the back yard and saw a bright patch of light – a reflection off a second-story window. Cool.
