Some fall light hits the walled garden in front of the college. Meanwhile, more renovations go in inside.

The magnolia looks to be losing a few leaves and there was a murmur above the parking lot tonight. Things are changing.

Today marks my 4,000th day on this one year project. Inspired by my friend Tim Rice and photography writer Michael Johnston, I decided in December 2010 to do what Johnston called a one camera-one lens-one year challenge, because I needed to feed … something.
After 365 days, I just kept going. And here I am – 4,000 days of making and posting a photo without a miss. In a few weeks, I’ll complete 11 years of this.
Have I learned anything? Maybe. I’m reminded that the best photos come from the days that I commit time to the project. A friend says she can tell those days. Perhaps it’s from where I wander, maybe it’s because of how I approach something. Most days are just visual journal entries, reminders of things I’ve seen. The best days share what I’ve experienced.
So, for today, four images. Composed intentionally as squares for another friend to fuss over. Things I saw today.
