We are past the halfway point on this trip, much of it is already a blur with little chance of it clarifying later. Everything seems to be a mix of move and sit, move faster and sit longer.

The Main Press Center has a lot of space, most of it not used during the Paralympic Games – we have one corner almost all to ourselves. In the foreground you can see my New Brazilian Laptop, connected to my Old American Laptop that appears to have a failed logic board.

At the front counter, they’re giving away aerosol cans of Off … which you can’t carry into Olympic venues.

It’s the little things that sometimes intrigue me, like the aging concrete on Maracana Stadium, site of the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Games, or the overloaded utility poles in Rio de Janeiro.

Everything in Olympic Park is branded in some way. Kind of want these for my back yard.

The hotel breakfasts are basic but highly functional – slightly watery scrambled eggs, lots of fresh fruit and cheeses.

We have landed in Brazil, everyone is tired from 24 hours of travel but in good spirits – especially after a Feast of Meats.

Also, there are telephone pods everywhere … so retro.
