Was finally able to return some library books that had been piling up, so I did a little walk around campus. Lots of empty seats, lots of open space.

The Mrs. asked for ribs from our favorite BBQ joint, which you have to order hours in advance for pickup. I was a little early so I did some wandering int he neighborhood.
Cleaned Up, 2
One of the hopes for part of the renovation area is to leave the concrete waffle core of the building exposed. (The project manager from the Office of University Architects is, I suspect, a modernist like me.)
The challenge here was there was a reddish color to the concrete, a mix of red clay and a releasing agent. From when the concrete was poured. In 1968.
The contractors tried media blasting it with dry ice and it worked pretty well, so exposed concrete in the new classroom.
I am enjoying this process way too much …

A lot of work at the crosswalk I use every day and all they seemed to have accomplished was … painting new stripes and some minor landscaping. They poured footers for what I imagine are new traffic lights, but they’re no where to be seen.
