Social Gathering
You can look at this as two 20-plus year old siblings gaming together, which is a fine way to look at it.
But there’s some techy sentimentality for me here … my dad bought his first real camera while serving in Vietnam. It’s the camera that documented my youth, the camera he taught me on. And I still have that old Pentax Spotmatic and the lenses for it.
I ordered an adapter for his old lens to mount on one of my new digital cameras, to see what it would look like. That the light that was falling on my kids was bent by the same glass as light that was falling on me 40 years ago gave me a little chill, not going to lie.
Beached
Eventually, it’ll rain again and this will be a fine place to paddle.
Still Bare
I just … I just don’t understand why this is the thing folks decided to hoard. Hand sanitizer I get, but toilet paper?
Out and About
Duncan doesn’t get out much, he can’t walk very far due to his arthritis and with his diminished lung function, he gets winded pretty quickly. So he usually just rides along but, today, he wanted to be a young pup.
Which lasted a few yards, then he started gasping so back in his stroller he went.
Pups got spirit, that’s for sure.
Empty Schools
School yards devoid of students, signs advising when laptops will be available again and Hannibal is most definitely not on holiday. Social distancing is firmly in place, schools are out and businesses are limiting hours due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Window View
I probably need to get out of the car and wander around some more, but there aren’t many on campus as almost everyone has cleared out and is working remotely. Still have a few folks left to help set up, then I’ll do the same.
